In Memory

I ONLY WANTED YOU

They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

Honey Aged 11
31st May 2011

Our hearts got torn apart when she left us on the 31st May 2011. Unfortunately she developed pancreatitis, at first we didn't know she was ill but she wasn't acting herself since Jaz the African Grey Parrot arrived so we took her to the vets. The vet couldn't find anything wrong other than a heart murmur so gave her a boost jab to boost her up, it worked so we decided to take her away for the weekend to help cheer her up though she quickly started to go down hill again so we kept an eye on her but the next day around tea time she could hardly stand. We packed up our things and made the journey back home. The next morning she was rushed straight to the emergency vet to find out she was a very ill girl. They kept her over night and then we transfered her to our normal vets the next morning. She started to make a recovery after a week in the vets so she was allowed home. A couple of days later she was even worse than before and we all knew in our hearts that it was time. I think even Honey knew it was time. We said our goodbyes as my parents took her to the vets once again, though she never returned home.

Honey, despite her age always acted like a pup! She loved cuddles and playing. She could run around for hours, even while she was ill she still tried to play. She is one in a million, my shining star.

Sleep tight Honey. You are free of pain and in a better place, though don't worry we will all be reunited once again. Love and miss you more than words can say.
